About First United Methodist Church
We are a congregation that believes in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We understand God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity). We recognize the Bible as God’s Word, and we believe that salvation comes through belief in Christ. We understand that we are the Body of Christ in the world. We share in a rich heritage in the community and value our traditions, yet we willingly embrace new ideas as we seek to know God’s will for us as the Church in this neighborhood and in the world.
We have a deep love of music and our worship reflects this love. Many talented and gifted musicians are part of the church family at First UMC and they willingly share their talents in service to the Lord. We are blessed with many children - and their presence in worship is one of our great joys!
We understand that we are called to make disciples of Jesus Christ, that we are called to share the love of God by living lives that are Christ-like, that we are called to witness to God’s love in Christ as we love God with all our mind, heart, soul and strength - and as we love our neighbors.
